Gerry & Carlos chose to celebrate their wedding in one of the most architecturally captivating places in Portugal — Herdade do Freixo, an underground winery hidden beneath the hills of Redondo.
Designed by Portuguese architect Frederico Valsassina, the venue is a study in silence, light, and raw material. The structure disappears into the landscape, revealing its sculptural form only once inside — a place where concrete feels soft, and minimalism feels warm.
For their wedding website, I translated that same energy into digital form. A balance between stillness and sophistication — modern typography, subtle transitions, and an intuitive layout created an experience that mirrors their venue: understated yet deeply intentional.
To complement the website, I also designed a digital invitation using the same visual language. Circular, minimal, and tactile in feeling — it introduced the celebration with the same quiet elegance. Both pieces were created to feel cohesive, architectural, and emotionally aligned.
The design was shaped by the architectural language of Herdade do Freixo and the refined minimal style Gerry & Carlos envisioned for their celebration. A dialogue between structure, emotion, and design.
